Facial oils to fall for

Check out my lame autumn pun. I’m not proud. But I am into ramping up my skincare routine in preparation for the imminent joys of a 20 degree drop in temperature, the central heating being cranked up again – and my skin having its annual autumnal freak out.

So, whereas in the summer I’ve been loving a light (but actives-packed, obvs) night cream of an evening, I’m about to trade these in for something a bit slicker. I love a face oil: give yourself a massage, breath in essential oils, and if you use the right amount it’s absorbed before you’ve even got your PJs on.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Balance Me Radiance Face Oil (£30). For September, they are launching it in limited edition packaging with a gorgeous gold motif to celebrate their 10th anniversary. This is perfect for post-summer skin – with yarrow and rosehip to reduce redness and restore radiance for the months ahead.

Balance Me

Talking of restoring, I am having serious issues making anything with the word ‘Oskia’ on last very long. I’ve finished my Eye Wonder eye serum so to make up for it I’ve cracked open a (beautiful, glass) dropper bottle of Restoration Oil (£60). This light, aromatic oil is for all skin types and contains a wonderful blend of nutrients, floral oils and extracts to make your skin dewy and glowing by the time you wake up. Divine.

My purse-friendly choice is from Yes To, which is now stocked at Boots. Yes To Blueberries Face and Neck Oil (£14.99) is formulated with anti-oxidant-packed organic blueberries and a patented lipid complex, and is my go-to when I’m feeling a bit more raisin than grape.

Yes To

My small brand find this week is from Natural Elements. Holistic Facial Oil (£20.99) is a total joy and what I reach for when my skin is a bit upset. Peach, jojoba, orange, grapefruit and patchouli oils balance and calm oily, hormonal skin and the scent is just delicious.

Finally, my luxe buy, from Darphin. 8 Flower Nectar (£95) is pricey, but this bad boy lasts for ages and is such a wonderful, posh, aromatic treat to use. If you’re not convinced with the oil thing, it’s about to come out as an ‘oil cream’ so keep an eye out.
