And All Because The Lady Loves

I’ve decided to do something about chocolate beauty as far away in the year as I can get from Easter. Because this isn’t about novelty products – I’m talking all-year-round goodies that will have your mouth watering, bunny or no bunny.

I’m quite fussy about chocolate, which probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise to those of you who know my high-maintenance foodie ways. You can keep your Dairy Milk and your Snickers. I could just about accommodate a Double Decker if hungry, but generally I’m more of a Green & Black’s kind of girl. And the same goes for my chocolate beauty finds. There’s nothing you’d find by the till at the garage, put it that way…

First up is MuLondon Organic White Chocolate Truffle Face Moisturiser (£15). I was relieved to see it was also for the body, because it seemed very rich. However, when I tried it on my face, at night, it reminded me of a gorgeously scented face oil in solid form and I woke up with peachy cheeks having dreamt of Willy Wonka. Delish.

Also for the face is the scrumptious Inlight Organic Chocolate Face Mask (£41). My children think this is hilarious, as it does look like you’ve rubbed chocolate sauce all over your face, and smells like it too. But this bad boy isn’t a gimmick – it visibly brightens and plumps thanks to its cocoa seed powder, argan kernel oil, and evening primrose oil.

For lips, I’m smitten with Beyond Organic Skincare’s Organic Chocolate Lip Balm (£8.26). This contains cocoa but doesn’t have an overwhelmingly chocolate taste, just a suggestion, which is a bonus as it would be a bit odd to taste it all the time. Contains calendula and chamomile for super-soft smackers.

A perfume that smells of chocolate sounds a bit wrong, but bear with me. Perfect for autumn evenings, Les Senteurs Gourmandes Vanille Chocolat Eau de Parfum (£22.50) is not very vanilla-ish (I’m not a fan) and instead evokes bitter chocolate and even a bit of tobacco. Don’t mind if I do.

Finally, the eternally original Bourjois has a chocolate treat in the shape of Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder (£6.99). I am becoming more adept with a little bronziness and this beauty comes with a chocolate scent and little gold sparkles, ideal for boosting the remains of your summer glow.
