Brand new to Moroccanoil is their dry shampoo, which enriches hair with signature brand style whilst refreshing between washes.

Dry shampoo is ideal for busy women on the go, meaning you don’t need to wash every day, and this luxe version is one of the best we’ve tried as it doesn’t give you that talc-like look. Available in Light and Dark Tones, the innovative formula is tailored to suit your hair type.  Instantly absorbing oil and product build-up, it also contains a UV filter and delish Moroccanoil scent and is volumising to boot.

We’ve been using the dark shade recently, for summery wavy hair and updos, alongside the Moroccanoil Large Barrel Brush for extra volume when blow drying. All Moroccanoil Ceramic Brushes contain properties in the bristles which repel water, speeding up the drying process.  Another great time-saver and hair hack!

For the Alice Temperley AW16 show, Moroccanoil stylists used both the dry shampoo and said brush to create a messy bun. This simple style is also ideal for summer and its popularity is all set to continue through the next hair season.  Think salty, sea air and a quick updo during the warmer months for holidays, festivals and summer weddings.

Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoil Global Ambassador talks us through how the look was created:

  • Prep with Moroccanoil Treatment Light on dry hair, enhancing your hair’s natural texture
  • Apply Moroccanoil Root Boost to sections of hair in a zigzag motion downwards from roots to ends, creating an uneven distribution of texture
  • Loosely dry hair using a Moroccanoil Large Barrel Brush, pulling it through to smooth out sections and create a natural look
  • Once dry, mist the whole head of hair with Moroccanoil Dry Shampoo (Dark / Light Tones dependent on hair colour) to create further texture
  • Using a Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Brush, skim the hair unevenly with the tips of the bristles to pull the hair back and create a tight ponytail at the occipital bone. Use fingers to pull through the hair, and back into the ponytail, to create natural  separation
  • Holding the ponytail in place, loop your hair through an elastic twice. On the third twist, pull hair half-way through to create a loose loop
  • Take the ends of the hair, pull these through the centre of the loop and then twist the remaining ends round the base of the bun to cover the elastic. Leave some loose end hanging below, unevenly.
