Summer is definitely just around the corner and you need to make the necessary preparations for to have the perfect skin so why not start with the basic and that is to protect.
It so nice to have that nice bronze glow for the summer but to get it “the natural way” you have to painstakingly bathe in the sun and as a Londoner, girl it’s hard when the majority of the British Summer is overcast and we are not about that life. Nonetheless, we still try and I always make sure that I properly protect my skin from the sun’s UV damage and that’s what I am here to talk to you guys about. Here are my top sun protection products that y’all need to get into.
I hope Y’all found that insightful and hopefully gave you guys some good products to look out for next time you’re out in the market for new sun protecting skin care products. Happy Sun bathing lovies and enjoy the summer!!!

Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream Plus 50
First up in no particular order of goodness is the Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream Plus 50. I’ve always loved Shiseido’s skincare products even back when I lived in the Philippines and this one is no exception. This Japanese brand has been around for over 140 years and has never ceased to amaze me by the range and innovativeness they bring to the table. Unlike your average SPF protector, this product is thick in texture but lightweight once applied and it doesn’t make my face look white you can easily layer this with your other moisturiser and under makeup. It retails for £27.90 at John Lewis, it may not be cheap but it’ll definitely last you for a while as all you’ll only need to use is a pea size amount for your face, but for your body maybe a bit more.
Next up is a drug store brand that everyone knows and love Nivea. I religiously use a lot of Nivea skin care products as it’s both good and affordable not that I don’t splurge on the high-end brands because I do there is just something different about Nivea that I like that I’ve not gotten from other brands. The Nivea Sun Protect & Bronze Face Sun Cream retails at £5.99 at Superdrugs (you can’t go wrong with that) which is an amazing price point but the downside is that it has a thick consistency that makes it hard for me to layer with other moisturisers so when I use it, I mix a small amount with my daily moisturiser so I can still get the protection without that white out looking face.

Dr. Andrew Weil range Mega-Bright SPF30 Oil Free Moisturiser
Back to high end with Origins specifically the Dr. Andrew Weil range Mega-Bright SPF30 Oil Free Moisturiser, at the price point of £42.00 per 50ml. It’s definitely on the higher price margin for me but it’s just so good that it is super worth every penny. This natural base product has ingredients like Rosa Roxburghii, White Peony (my favourite flower) and Palmaria that helps even out your skin tone and with the added SPF 30 to protect you from UV damage leaving you with even, protected and luminous skin. I’m gonna stop right there before I start sounding like an advertisement for this product. Y’all, I just love it so much that I ignore the price every time I repurchase after finishing a pot.
Another one for the Natural category is the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturiser. Don’t be fooled by the “Ultra” part like myself, I thought that it was going to be really thick in consistency but to my surprise, it was very lightweight and applied very smoothly. I’ve yet to the try the same moisturiser for the body but I reckon, it’ll be just as good. This item currently retails for £26.00 per 125ml which is not bad and plus when you go into the store there is always eye candy so it’s a win-win.
Last but definitely not the least, is one of my favourite brands Lancôme. The Soleil Bronzer SPF 50 BB Cream has been a go to product whenever I want to do a “no makeup makeup” look (mostly on days where I have no time to put on a full face). Not only does it give me a bronzed glowing skin it also protects it from the Sun’s UV damage so it’s a product that I highly recommend. Quick Tutorial, apply it with a damp beauty sponge for an even application and pop on some highlight on the high points of your cheeks, forehead, nose bridge and tip, cupids bow, and chin and BOOM! dewy glow natural makeup look with sun protection.
Another high-end product possibly the most expensive on the list is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream with SPF 30 and the Liquid Layer SPF 30. These two products are definitely at higher price points than the others I’ve mentioned as the cream itself retails for £82.00 per 50ml and the liquid layer for £30.00 per 40ml. It’s expensive but girl let me tell you something it was like nothing I’ve ever tried before, the girl at beauty counter who tested it on my skin and gave me a sample to take with said that the cream has anti-wrinkle properties that help’s with fine lines and wrinkle and because it has SPF 30 in it, it’ll protect you from UV damage but to further this, I should layer it with the Liquid layer which is there lightweight sunscreen products that can apparently rival The Dior One Essential City Defence.
Protect against environmental aggressors and protect against skin ageing with Esthederm City protect incellium spray. Simply mist your skin before leaving the house and say hello to firm and protected skin.
On to the most high-end product which is the Dior One Essential City Defence that’s retailing at £41.00 per 30ml, it’s definitely pricey but I’d like to say that it’s worth the money because it feels amazing on the skin, definitely does what bottle says it does and I found that it made my skin super healthy looking, bright and glowy after a few days. I used this product under my daily moisturiser and on days I don’t wear makeup, you can definitely see a natural dewiness to my skin.
