Summer Haircare

Beauty BulletinFor this week’s round-up of beauty news, I thought I’d focus on haircare as there have been lots of really interesting product releases and announcement for your tresses.

London blow dry bar Duck & Dry have just launched a line-up of products enabling you to master a professional-style blow dry in your own home. Their Up, Up & Away Shampoo (£14) & Conditioner (£16) are stand-out products for those seeking salon volume and bounce, and the conditioner contains lots of lovely ingredients to nourish the hair – coconut oil, honey, shea butter and essential oils. Entirely made in Britain, these products are also Paraben, silicone and sulphate-free.

US brand Redken have just released their latest product – the Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Treatment Primer Cream (£17 from Feel Unique) is an addition to their already popular Pillow Proof line. It will protect the hair from heat (up to 230 degrees), reduce blow dry time, add volume, prevent breakage and boost the effectiveness of any styling products you use afterwards.

On the natural and organic front, Greek-inspired haircare brand Onira Organics have announced a new collection that takes a non-chemical approach to cleansing, renewing and repairing the hair – utilising the power of plants and essential oils. The packaging is even recyclable. The line-up contains The Mask (£60), The Serum (£60), The Oil (£42), The Conditioner (£34), The Delicate Shampoo (£28), The Nourishing Shampoo (£28) and The Natural Shampoo (£20) – all of which will be available from Urban Retreat at Harrods and online on June 30th.

Perfect for those summer holidays, organic, Fair Trade and eco-sustainable brand OWAY have launched the new SunWay range to protect hair from the effects of chlorine, salt water and sun damage – all those usual vacation beauty perils. The Sun Protection Elixir (£25) spray oil helps protect hair from UV rays, dehydration and damage and has a delicious orange scent, and the After Sun Hair Mask (£19) provides intense nourishment to hair that has suffered the effects of sun, salt and chlorine.

Finally, if you fancy a quick change of colour, the renowned Schwarzkopf Professional have announced the launch of their spray-on BLONDME Instant Blush hair colours. Designed for blonde hair, there are four pastel shades – pink, green, blue and purple – that can be sprayed onto the hair for an instant temporary change of colour. The formula also contains a vitamin complex to nourish the hair, and you’ll be able to pick all four colours up later this month from Schwarzkopf partner salons.
