Whether you’re looking for a cultural city weekend city weekend away, relaxing beach time, or simply some guaranteed summer sun, then Spain is hard to beat.
And one of StyleNest’s favourite travel destinations is looking even more appealing this year thanks to some exciting hotel news and launches. If you’re looking for some holiday inspiration, then here we round up some of the destinations on our wish list this summer.
Cap Rocat
For those looking some pampering and indulgence, Palma’s secluded Cap Rocat hotel has just launched a new spa which will guarantee a peaceful holiday escape.
Carved from the limestone depths of the former 19th century military fortress where the hotel is located, the spa offers ultimate privacy and relaxation – and an impressive saltwater swimming pool located 12m below ground level. Thanks to its large glass ceiling the pool manages to still be flooded with light and Spanish sun during the day, and allows guests to enjoy the magical experience of swimming under the stars at night.
As well as enjoying a dip in the pool guests can also enjoy the spa’s beauty treatments with products that use local, natural ingredients, such as olives, citrus fruits, and almonds, or head out onto the terrace for massages with breathtaking views.
Those looking for a city break might want to head to Madrid to check out StyleNest favourite Urso Hotel and Spa, which has just launched a brand new restaurant in the heart of the Spanish capital. After StyleNest visited and loved their pop up concept The Table By, we now can’t wait to head back to try their new project, Media Ración.
Taking inspirtation from traditional Spanish flavours and the culture of tapas, Media Ración offers a variety of plates designed to be shared and enjoyed together, and is the latest creation of Fernando Cuenllas from Madrid’d famed restaurant Cuenllas.
Foodies will also be excited by San Sebastian’s famed 3 Michelin star restaurant Akelare opening its own 5 star hotel in July.
The restaurant has held 3 stars under Chef Pedro Subijana since 2007, and will now add the five-star boutique hotel, the first in the city, this coming summer. The 21 rooms have been designed to offer an impressive amount of space to help maximise the hotel’s beautiful views over the Bay of Biscay, and for when you do leave the comfort of your hotel room Akelare is even providing a free shuttle service to San Sebastian and its delicious pintxo bars, giving you even more opportunity to enjoy the region’s cuisine.
