Costa Rica holidays get revamped this December, the Andaz Hotel group launch in Latin America for the very first time.
Bringing a new flavour to Costa Rica’s tourist industry, global hotel brand Andaz, are to open a brand new luxury hotel in the country’s Peninsula on the northern Pacific coast.
The stunning hotel is the work of Costa Rican architect, Ronald Zurcher and is set to shake up the region’s mix of either very colonial or ultra modern hotels. The Andaz Papagayo will instead take on a ‘naturalist’ design, taking inspiration from Mother Nature with a refined bohemian vibe.
The past three decades have seen a plethora of hotels pop up in Costa Rica, but the trend has focused on much more colonial or American inspired designs. Andaz Papagayo will give travellers to the region a chance to see just how beautiful and exceptional Costa Rica is naturally, which a blend of woven textiles, solid wood and carved local artefacts.
Zurcher explains his design ideas in saying, “Costa Rica is known for its peace-loving attitude and I felt tapping into Mother Nature’s energy was the best way to connect the resort with the overall vibe of the country.”
Guest will feel closer to nature too as each of the 153 rooms will come with a breathtaking sea view and balcony. Some of those will offer slightly more luxurious sleeping quarters as full suits, four of which will even have their own plunge pool. And the more impressive of all will be the Presidential Suite, complete with its own full size swimming pool.
The laid back, natural atmosphere will become a fixed featured around the hotel, thanks to decision such as a no check in desk policy, no processes and no formality. Instead, guest will be welcomed into a stunning open-air lobby.
