Hands up, who’s already counting down the days to their summer holiday?
There’s a little bit of sun creeping through the clouds this morning, and we’re already in a holiday mood. With that in mind, we thought we’d brainstorm some irresistible travel accessories for the summer. Whether you’re backpacking with friends or hitting the beach, you need the right toys. Accessories help you travel in style; they make the long flights easier too. Quite frankly, we’d be lost without them.
It’s even trickier these days, especially when traveling with your phone, a tablet, a Kindle and a laptop! There’s so much technology that needs protecting, styling and packing. Sometimes we just don’t know where to start. Luckily, we’ve been doing some digging, and we’ve found some amazing travel accessories to help you on the way. Summer isn’t far away, and you can never be too prepared!

It’s boring and uncomfortable. But, with these accessories, the time will whizz by!

A travel charger isn’t exactly stylish or sexy, but it gets the job done. If you’ve got a long-haul flight ahead of you, there’s no chance your iPhone is making it to the other end. Saying goodbye to friends and posting airport pictures will kill the battery before you even get on the plane! You need an all-in-one solution that plugs straight into the wall (there are free sockets at every airport). It should come with various charging adapters too. That way you can plug in your Kindle, iPad and laptop. Imagine how long that flight will feel if you can’t listen to music.

We don’t know about you, but we can’t go anywhere without our Kindle! There’s nothing better than lying on the beach, soaking up the sun, and getting lost in a book. Like many book lovers, we weren’t convinced about the Kindle at first, but now it comes everywhere. It’s perfect for traveling because you no longer need to pack six hardback books with you! The best thing about luggage tags is that they balance form and function. We’ve come across some beautiful and quirky designs that add style to your boring luggage. More importantly, you should write your name and contact number on them. Just imagine how terrible your holiday would be if your luggage was lost! It happens all too often, and the shame of wearing your travel clothes all week is all too real.

When you’re on holiday, you want as many clothes choices as possible. You never know what restaurants you might end up in. You don’t know what trips you’ll take and what clothes that might require. You probably want to pack for every occasion. The only tricky part is that you can’t fit your wardrobe into your luggage! With vacuum compression bags, you can squeeze in four times as many clothes. Have you ever tried to sleep on a plane? Or, worse, on a sketchy airport shuttle bus? It’s impossible to get comfy! Some people seem to doze off before the plane even takes off, but not us. You could try cuddling up to the person next to you, but if it’s a businessman, he won’t be too happy about it! Instead, we found these inflatable hoodie pillows. They wrap around your neck as a cushion and the hoodie keeps you warm and comfortable. If you’re lucky enough to snatch the window seat, curl up and fall asleep to your favourite film.

They never have hair dryers at the hotel! What is wrong with the world? We can put a man on the moon, but we can’t put a hairdryer in a hotel room. You just never know what you’re going to get when you turn up to the hotel, so it’s best to take your own. Fold up travel options are the best, and you can get your hands on them for a decent price. We know you’re on holiday, but a bad hair day is just going to ruin everything.

Let’s face it, you’re going to spend most of the day in the pool or floating in the sea. It’s a luxury we just never get to enjoy at home so make the most of it! But, you’re going to want to take photos and Instagram your awesome holiday life. And that means investing in a waterproof case for your smartphone. The last thing you want is to drop it into the ocean while trying to take the perfect beach shot.

These are especially useful if you’re backpacking with friends. You’ll find a remote spot to camp or rest, and let the speakers loose! Have you ever arrived at the airport to see travel-makers pouring their clothes on the floor? It’s a sure sign their luggage is overweight, and they’ve got to rearrange the whole system! If you don’t weigh your luggage, that person could be you! And no-one wants that at 6.30am on the morning of a flight. Take portable scales and make sure your luggage is well within the required weight.
