La Trémoille, Paris

La Tremoille Paris - junior suite (5)The five-star La Trémoille can be found in Paris’s exclusive 8th arrondissement, just a short walk away from the famous Champs-Élysées. Known as one of the most luxury hotels in the area, and perfectly located for a weekend of sightseeing, StyleNest headed over for a relaxing break away to the City of Light.

When we arrived in what is known at the Golden Triangle area of Paris, surrounded by its iconic monuments and museums, we felt like we were truly in Paris, and shopping heaven. With famous sights in the area including the Arc de Triomphe and the Grand Palais, and designers including Dior and Louis Vuitton, it was the perfect area to experience the highlights of Paris and some of the best window shopping in the world.

We found La Trémoille on a pretty and peaceful street in the area, behind a beautiful Haussmann façade. One of the most historical and luxurious hotels in the area, previous guests include jazz greats Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, with the hotel’s musical history still alive today with regular jazz nights held in its elegant lounge bar.

We checked in with the friendly hotel staff, who greeted us warmly and told us everything we needed to know about the hotel before we headed up to our bedroom to settle in. The décor of our room was classically elegant, and perfectly reflected the hotel’s historical roots. With two large doors heading out onto our balcony we also had some space to sit and enjoy the iconic view of Paris rooftops that spread out over the city.

Although we were tempted to try the hotel’s spa, our location was too good to miss out on all of the nearby sights, so we headed out into the city to explore for the afternoon.

After few hours of soaking up the atmosphere of the city, we headed back to La Trémoille and the comfort of our beautiful hotel room. We had booked into the hotel’s restaurant for that evening, so decided to enjoy some time pampering ourselves in our luxury bathroom and huge bathtub before heading downstairs.

Feeling full after a delicious three-course dinner of classic French dishes, and tired after a packed day of sightseeing, our huge Queen-sized bed was calling us.

However we couldn’t leave the hotel without a drink in the same bar that Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington used to frequent, so we made time for a relaxing nightcap before making our way upstairs for the most blissful nights sleep in our cosy and comfortable bed.

The next day we woke up early, wanting to see more of Paris, as well as enjoy a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. Thanks to the luxury of La Trémoille, and the amount of sights to see in the area, one night didn’t feel quite enough, but feeling rested after such a comfortable stay and energised by our delicious breakfast, we were ready to make the most of our last day in this beautiful city before heading home.
