Hotel Le Pavillon de la Reine

Pavillon de la ReineAfter falling in love with the Hotel Le Pavillon de la Reine during a spa visit last year, StyleNest decided it was the perfect way to head of the January blues, and headed back to spend more time there during a weekend away in Paris.

Located in the beautiful Place des Vosges in the historical Le Marais area of the city, the hotel is quietly tucked away off the square, giving you peaceful privacy whilst still been perfectly located to visit nearby sights, shops, restaurants and bars.

Knowing where we were going from our spa visit, we headed straight over to the hotel, excited about the chance to spend more time in its luxurious surroundings. But even though we had an idea of what to expect, we were still thrilled at just how beautiful our room was. Looking over the pretty garden and terrace, the room offered a separate bedroom and living area, all decorated in a stunning and unique black flock wallpaper, and stylishly accessorised in keeping with the boutique but luxury feel of the hotel. It felt cosy and comfortable with a home-from-home feel, but of course far more indulgent.

We headed out to explore Le Marais and soak up its very Parisian atmosphere, as well as take a stroll around Place des Vosges where the hotel is located, the same square where legendary French writer Victor Hugo lived, giving a historic and literary feel to the area. When we returned we were delighted to see the trees of the terrace lit up in the darkness by hundreds of fairy lights, and the hotel looking even more beautiful than it had earlier.

We decided to warm up after a cold and grey Parisian afternoon in the spa we had enjoyed so much last time, and made the most of warming sauna and relaxing Jacuzzi. We probably should have also made the most of the gym facilities too since we had planned to head out for some delicious French food that evening, but we decided out time would be better spent enjoying Paris!

When we headed home later that evening after classic French steak frites and red wine in a nearby restaurant we had a drink in the hotel’s honesty bar. Decorated with books, dark wood, and low lighting, it made for a very cosy winter’s evening and the perfect place to enjoy a nightcap.

The next morning, we were reluctant to leave the comfort of our bed, in fact we didn’t want to leave the hotel at all, our room felt like our very own little stylish Parisian apartment, but the thought of breakfast helped motivate us. Downstairs we took a table next to the terrace to enjoy the view and feasted on an array of French pastries, bread, fruit, eggs, juice, coffee, everything you could want for the perfect breakfast to end the perfect weekend.
