StyleNest recently took a trip to the ever-stylish London foodie destination, 108 Brasserie.
Situated in Marylebone, the restaurant combines contemporary dishes with a classic, timeless appeal. Our second trip to 108 Brasserie for a lunch review, we are always drawn to the delightful décor and extremely accommodating team. Met with a very warm welcome and guided to our table, a glass of champagne was then offered to set the chic dining scene perfectly.
Team member Villo talked us through the menu, and I chose the Roasted Organic Baby Beets with Goat’s Curd, Basil and Balsamic. My other half plumped for Charred Octopus with Heritage Tomato, Avocado and Piquillo Peppers. These arriving shortly after Villo had taken our order, both were beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.
Onto the mains, and I decided on the Grilled Chicken Salad with Guacamole, Sweet Piquillo Pepper, Gem Lettuce and Coriander. The Mr picked Grilled New Season Lamb Cutlets with Broad Beans and Salsa Verde. 108 Brasserie focuses on seasonal ingredients; and each plate offered the perfect spring lunch. Alongside his lamb, my husband sipped a delicious glass of red, suggested to us by another knowledgeable waiting team member.
Although almost full from our first two impressive courses, there was no way we were going to miss the opportunity to pop into 108 Pantry and sample their fantastic cakes and sweet treats. While browsing the colourful, hugely tempting puds, we also noticed 108 have an in-house chocolatier. An accolade which obviously couldn’t be ignored, we began eagerly admiring the Easter eggs on display.
Choosing a few sweets to share, these were a mouth-watering Guinness & Bailey’s Cake, assorted Macarons and Pecan Pie. Gluten-free cakes are available too. While tucking into these gorgeously indulgent goodies, Villo popped back and presented chocolate for our children. Taking the time to chat about life in general and upcoming bank holiday plans, the entire team added a personal touch which made our lunch even more special.
We will without doubt return to 108 Brasserie soon, perhaps bringing the little ones next time too.
