After months of comfort eating and hiding behind our winter woollies it’s time to face our body demons and get in shape for summer. However no amount of sit-ups, detoxing and hours on the treadmill will shift certain areas of stubborn fat.
Fear not as the answer doesn’t have to involve going under the knife, thanks to a revolutionary new treatment from Zeltiq.
CoolSculpting by Zeltiq™ is a new, completely non-invasive way to gently and effectively reduce stubborn fat in targeted areas of the body. If you’ve been tempted by lipo, disappointed with supposed fat reducing wraps and are at a loss as how to get that lower tummy flatter and firmer, then this is the treatment for you.
Unlike many fat reducing treatments, with CoolSculpting you can achieve fantastic results in just one session. For those with a slightly denser area of fat, two sessions can be recommended but please note they must be at least two months apart.
What Is CoolScultping?
CoolSculpting uses an innovative cooling technology called ‘Cryolipolysis’ to selectively target fat bulges and freeze fat cells. Once crystalized these fat cells gradually die off and the body will eliminate them through a gradual process over 6-12weeks.
What To Expect:
Your therapist will begin the procedure with a thorough description of the treatment and the results you can expect. The treatment lasts 1 hour per area (eg lower left tummy) so be advised to keep aside at least 2 hours.
After marking the area on your skin your therapist will then place the cooling gel pad over the targeted area. A non-invasive applicator (similar to a small vacuum) is then placed on top and immediately sucks up the fatty area. The freeze then begins and continues for one hour.
Once removed, the frozen area will look a little red, swollen and be hard to the touch. Your therapist will massage the area until flat once again.Whilst it isn’t painful the first few minutes of freezing sting a little and the massage will feel a little tender.
Unlike traditional invasive surgical procedures, the CoolSculpting by Zeltiq™ procedure is completely non-invasive with no needles and no need for surgical incisions, therefore, no recovery time is required. You can resume your normal activities, gym included, the same day.
What are the results?
Results aren’t immediate as the fat cells break down naturally over 6-12 weeks, after which you should see up to a 20% reduction in fat.
Don’t be alarmed as you will experience a numb sensation for up to 8 weeks but the treatment is pain and risk free. We experienced no bruising, pain or discomfort after the treatment however,bruising can be common but should should disappear within a week or so.
The best bit? As long as a healthy diet and regular exercise are maintained, long-term results will remain stable.
CoolSculpting is the ideal treatment for women over 30 who perhaps don’t have the metabolism they once did on their side and are finding that exercise simply won’t shift that stubborn area. Whilst it is expensive only one treatment is necessary per area and results are guaranteed.
