Channel your inner artist for National Doodle Day

National Doodle Day 2016- get doodling imageGet practising your freehand for Epilepsy Action’s campaign next month.

With epilepsy affecting around one in every 100 people in the UK alone, Epilepsy Action is urging families to get creative and take action on National Doodle Day next month on Friday 5th February. On average, one child in every primary school and five in every secondary school live with the condition, and the charity is working hard to remove any stigmas for the next generation.

Help draw a line through epilepsy by taking part in their ‘Doodle and Donate’ campaign, which has had the backing of famous faces ranging from Lorraine Kelly to the Duchess of York and from Karl Pilkington to Bill Nighy. There are plenty of ways to get involved – the easiest being drawing your own doodle, taking a selfie with it and tagging it on Twitter (@DoodleDay), Instagram (@NationalDoodleDay) and Facebook (National Doodle Day). Don’t forget to text DOODLE to 70300 to donate £3, or you can donate online at nationaldoodleday.org.uk.

You can also help plan a National Doodle Day event at school, work or in the local community to raise money for Epilepsy Action. With a host of materials available on the site, you can host a doodle competition, create a doodle gallery or even group together to create one giant doodle – plenty of ways to get involved.

Not a natural born artist? Fear not – a host of celebs have picked up pens, pencils and paints and helped draw a line through epilepsy – you can bid for your favourite celebrity doodle in Epilepsy Action’s online auction. Keep your eyes peeled for more information or drop them a line here to be updated via email.

We know we’ll be Doodling on the 5th – will you?
