Make This Valentine’s Day Extra Special For Her

ChocolatesFor most women, Valentine’s Day is a big deal. No matter how many times we scoff at this expensive holiday, we still dream of being surprised by that special someone. So guys, if you want to make your significant other’s year, you’d better listen up.

The most important thing that you can do when it comes to February 14th is make it memorable. How you mark the occasion doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate, it just has to make her feel special. To help you make this year’s day of romance memorable, here are a few ideas that any woman is sure to love.

Surprise her with breakfast in bed

Start the day right by spoiling her with breakfast in bed. If you’re a dab hand in the kitchen, why not make her a delicious breakfast? Us girls love nothing more than relaxing in bed with a cup of coffee and our favourite breakfast. If you’re unsure of what her preferred breakfast food is, you can’t go wrong with poached eggs and smoked salmon or blueberry pancakes. (These are the foods of the gods!)

If you’re not a talented cook, don’t panic. Instead of breakfast in bed, book a table at her fave brunch place. Just because you can’t cook, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a lovely relaxed morning together.

Pick the perfect card and present

While Valentine’s Day is about showing your significant other that you care, it doesn’t mean that you have to spend a small fortune on them. It’s not about showing your partner how much you’ve spent, but how much they mean to you.

Jewellery, a bottle of perfume or a stay in a lavish hotel all make great gifts, as do a beautiful bunch of Valentine’s Day flowers. They may not cost as much, but the sentiment is just the same, especially if you opt for roses. It’s not about spending a lot, all you need to do is pick a pressie that says ‘I love you’. And whatever you do, don’t forget the card. To you, cards may not be meaningful, but to us girls, the card is the best part – we love seeing your feelings written down.

Spend the day together

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday, which means that as long as you don’t work weekends, you can have the whole day together. Don’t just sit around and do nothing, plan your day in advance, to ensure that it’s as enjoyable, romantic and memorable as possible.

If there is a hobby that the two of you share, why not spend the day doing that? Be it hiking on beautiful coastal paths or exploring new places, spend the day doing what you love. If there’s a movie you’ve been wanting to see, plan a movie date. If the idea of relaxing together appeals to you, stock the fridge with your favourite snacks and a bottle of bubbly, and spend the day chilling out.

Valentine’s Day only comes around once a year, so it’s important that you make it special. To do that you don’t have to spend a lot, you just need to think of some sweet ways to spoil your beloved.
