Here at StyleNest, Savannah Miller is one of our favourite designers, so we were absolutely delighted to have a chat with her.
Recently revealing an exquisite beauty line, Savannah Miller x bagsy, this AW capsule collection encompasses hair, face, eyes and lips. There are 7 stunning items within the range, including liquid eyeliner, an eyeshadow palette, classic red lipstick and hair texture spray. Our particular favourites so far have to be the Pitch Black Full Volume Mascara (£18) and Bronzed Brilliance Shimmer Powder (£20).
The Savannah Miller x bagsy edit focuses on a celestial theme, making for absolute must-have dressing table delights. In addition, the entire range supports Women for Women International, a vital charity helping marginalised women in war-torn areas.
We spoke to Savannah, finding out all about her new beauty collection and exciting design projects on the horizon.
Congratulations on your brand new savannah miller x bagsy beauty collection; can you tell us about the inspiration behind this gorgeous range?
I wanted to create a perfect kit to take you from day to evening of my essential make up products
Do you have a favourite product within the collection?
I love the Vermillion Red Lipstick. It honestly is my perfect red and it suits so many different skin tones and hair colours. I think red lipstick can be really empowering so I am really pleased that this one is so spot on. It’s glamorous but still fun
The range is beautifully presented with a celestial theme of stars, moons and birds, which I absolutely love. Did you have a very clear idea in mind for both packaging and theme?
Yes I love those motifs and use stars, moons and birds in a lot of my design work so it felt like a really natural thing for me to do. One of my favourite things about bagsy is their beautiful packaging so to see it in my prints is a dream come true.
Women for Women International is such a fantastic charity- how can we lend our support to this crucial cause?
It’s really inspiring isn’t it! You can support by sponsoring a woman to go through their programme. You can do this either individually for £22 per month or as a group so our local school sponsor a woman and the children write letters to her and send her pictures and she writes back so they can hear about what she is learning on the programme and how it is improving her life. That direct impact is very exciting to be a part of.
Could you choose three beauty items that you would take to a desert island?
Sunscreen, mascara and red lipstick
Which style picks are topping your wardrobe wish-list this season?
I love the decadence that we are seeing all over the catwalks at the moment and am suddenly obsessed with sparkles. I even love a sequin skirt with a chunky knit for downtime
As a mum, what has been the best piece of advice offered to you during your motherhood journey so far?
That time does heal most things. Funny little habits and behaviours do seem to pass. Also having a step child that is ten years older than my children really helps me to get some perspective on things.
Which other mamas do you admire?
Brita Fernandez Schmidt, the director of women for women international because she has two daughters, she is an exceptional mother and an exceptionally hard working business woman and it’s extremely inspiring to witness.
How do you like to relax when you’re away from work?
Walking the dog with my children really helps me to unwind. We live in the beautiful countryside outside of Stroud and the epic views really do blow me away and calm me down.
Are you able to share with us some exciting insight into any upcoming projects you’re currently working on?
I launched my eponymous bridal line in new York in October which will be in stores from January so that is super exciting and I have also launched bridal and active wear under my Nine range at Debenhams also launching in January.
