If you are visiting the UK this year, there is only one place you need to see. We are not suggesting that other locations across Britain should be avoided, but one spot stands out more than others. That is the great city of London. There is a reason virtually every new action film has at least one situation filmed in the city. It has become a place of cultural significance that is one of the most sought spots in the world to visit.

It does not matter whether you have a passion for history or a need for blood pounding excitement, London is the place that you want to be. Here are just some of the things that you can do on a day that you will not forget in one of the greatest cities in the world.

See A West End Show

The West End is the only place in the world that can rival the spectacular musical and theatre shows that you can see on a Broadway. We suggest booking online to get a cheaper prices and a better choice of seats. There are many shows available to see but if we had to recommend two, they would be “Wicked” and “The Book Of Mormon.”  Wicked is the worldwide phenomenon that lead to countless covers of  “Defying Gravity.” The show will soon be turned into a big budget blockbuster, and that is sure to send audiences flocking to the theatres again. Take our advice and see it now before demand starts to heat up again.

The Book Of Mormon is another unique theatrical experience, although one that is not as universally loved as “Wicked.” The satirical comedy is a Tony award winning show from the creators of South Park that has to be seen to be believed. It is not recommended for those who are easily offended.

View History Like Never Before

There are many tours all over the world like the one on offer in the London Dungeons. If you have visited any one of them, you will know the score. Actors tell you gruesome stories with some fantastic special effects as you are lead on a guided tour through a scary underworld. However, if you take the Jack The Ripper tour you will be led, following in the footsteps of a serial killer, learning the truth behind the myth. Was he really a member of the royal family? Take the tour and find out for yourself. The tour finishes with the newly improved London dungeons, located near the London Eye. There is now a massive underground maze filled with ghosts and ghouls that are sure to give kids and adults a fright.

A Breathtaking View

Once you finish the tour of the dungeons, you will only be a few minutes walk from the famous London Eye. It is a ferris wheel on the edge of the Thames that gives you a breathtaking view of the entire city. On busy days, the queue for a thirty-minute ride is around half an hour to forty-five minutes. You wait for the queue to die down by taking a 4D London Eye experience first. Another extra tip is to make sure you are standing by the line on the floor in the capsule so that you can get the best snap when it takes your photo in the air. Don’t worry about looking the right face, the capsule will let you know when it is time to say cheese. If you want to add to the experience, for a little extra cash you can book your own private capsule.

Madame Tussauds

There are a number of different Madame Tussauds across Europe, but each has their own unique display of figures and celebrities. London’s is the one you do not want to miss, particularly now that they have opened their Star Wars section in time for the new movie. It is one of the only places in the world that you or your family can take a picture with sculptures of the movie in the iconic Millennium Falcon. The attraction is not simply a museum but rather an interactive experience that is a fun way to spend an afternoon in the city.

You can walk in a room and feel like a giant or compare yourself to the tallest and smallest people in the world. It is worth noting that you can buy tickets for some of these attractions together and save the cost of paying for each separately.

Shopping Can Be Fun

Children often moan and make shopping a nightmare, but London is a place where they will love it as much as you do. With amazing shops such as the M and M factory, your kids will be entertained, and you can buy them some snacks to munch on along the way. Then you can enjoying browsing some of the most luxurious brands, some of which can not be found anywhere else in the world.

These are quite expensive, but the price can be pushed down if you book far enough in advance. After a night’s sleep in heaven why not go and visit Buckingham Palace and see how royalty truly lives.
