This unique art exhibiton is curated by Christian Furr, celebrating the city of Liverpool through the Artistic contributions of some of the world’s leading artists. The exhibiton itself runs until 25th November and the special auction takes place on 17th November. All proceeds from the gala auction will be donated to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Claire House provides respite care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. Claire House offers a sanctuary for children, young people and their families, allowing them to forget about the daily routine and simply enjoy themselves. It is certainly a worthy cause that touches the heart of many.
There is an abundance of renowned artists taking part in the Liverpool Love art auction. Their works will initially be open to the public in the exhibition and will be auctioned off on the night of the special auction gala.
Sir Peter Blake is one of the artists displaying and auctioning his artwork for Claire House Children’s Hospice. The godfather of British pop art, he designed the iconic Beatles’ Sgt Peppers’ Lonely Hearts Club album cover, along with album artwork for Paul Weller, The Who and Oasis. His offering is a sentimental dedication to his home-town of Liverpool, featuring important figures from past and present.
Cobbler Terry de Havilland, Yoko Ono and Noel Fielding are some of the other artists auctioning their works for this worthy cause. Likewise, there is also Liverpool-inspired art from Dan, Sam and Tom, who all attend Claire House.
The exhibition and auction take place at The Museum of Liverpool. Tickets cost just £20 and you can place your bids for any of the artwork online at the Liverpool Love website. http://www.liverpoollove.org
