Little thespians and fans of Shakespeare should head to the RSC this Easter, as the UK’s most famous theatre company opens its doors to a whole range of festive events.

Here are our top picks from the RSC’s Easter what’s on calendar.

Cloud Man

Heading up the Easter Holiday events is Cloud Man, a magical 45minute show created by puppet maker, Allie Cohen. Blending imaginative puppetry with storytelling and wonderful visuals, this production, taking place at the RSC’s Swan Theatre, will excite the imaginations of young and old.

The Great Shakespeare Egg Hunt

Easter just wouldn’t be Easter without a good old egg hunt. So bring your little ones down to the Royal Shakespeare Company this March and April, basket in hand and bonnet on head, for a Shakespearean take on Easter fun. Families can pick up a Great Shakespeare Egg Hunt booklet from the RSC shop to solve the puzzles and find the Easter treats hidden around the building.

  • Tickets: Entry is free, booklets cost £1 each

Family Workshop: Hamlet

If you’ve got a budding Dame Judi on your hands take them along to the RSC’s Hamlet. Perfect if your little one is starting to study Shakespeare at school, if you want to introduce them to the famous play, or you secretly want to brush up on your own Shakespeare knowledge. Suitable for ages 7+.

  • When: Wednesday 3 April, 11.30am – 12.3-pm
  • Where: The Ferguson Room, Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon

Rooftop Restaurant

With all the Easter excitement on offer you’ll need to fit in a family meal to refuel. Head up to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s third floor restaurant, where you’ll find delicious British classics on the menu and panoramic views of the River Avon and rolling countryside. Half portions are available for little ones, as well as a free Shakespearean activity sheet and crayons.
