One of London’s biggest department stores, Selfridges, has now launched their very own Toy Shop.
Toy shops are and always will be a cherished moment of childhood that is impossible to forget. Recreating the warm fuzzy feeling in all of us, Selfridges have launched their very own permanent world of wonder for the first time in 10 years.
And the wait is well worth it. Think life-sized stuffed animals, a ceiling covered in balloons and screenings of much-loved movies like Home Alone and Lion King.
Set to be the toy destination of the year, be prepared to be delighted by toy classics like My Little Pony, Thomas The Tank Engine and Sylvanian Families. Your little one will certainly not miss out on a traditional childhood at this toy shop. Yet for those kiddies who are into the technology scene, there is something for them too. We’re sure they’ll be impressed with newly coveted toys V-Tech and the first 3D printed dolls, Makies, alongside various other futuristic technological gadgets. With over 250 products to choose from there really is a toy for every little boy or girl.
Finding said toys will not prove difficult as the toy shop is split into seven sections. Our favourite has to be Barbie & Friends, the destination for all budding fashionistas. Expect a collection of one-off barbies wearing outfits designed by trendy London designers Sister by Sibling. The Cuddly Toys section is where your little one finds their special snuggly friend. Wooden & Retro stores all the toy classics whilst the Garage corner is made for the already established car lovers, and the Tech Toys section is sure to be well used by future techies. The Create and play area will be the corner for budding thespians, and Character for those who just can’t get enough of Spiderman.
