This March and April, take your little skater boys and girls along to Selfridges London, where the Board Games events menu will be celebrating all things board sports related.
Surfs up in Selfridges this spring, as the iconic London department store will be getting a skater style and surfer dude makeover this spring, as the store transforms itself into all things board sports related.
The Board Games events menu will span across the entire store throughout March and April, but it is in the Kids Department where it will be most fun.
Up on the fourth floor of the Oxford Street store, little surf and skate dudes can indulge their visceral street and sea energy.
Skate and surf culture has always gone hand in hand with fashion, so what better opportunity to launch street brand, Rika to the Selfridges floors. Hailing from the über cool Scandinavia, Rika creates womenswear with a skate meets rock aesthetic. For SS14, they’ve launched a mini-me selection for little girls, based on key pieces from the womenswear line.
Standouts of the collection include a leather biker jacket, leopard print leggings and an adorable studded cat-ears headband.
Another brand stepping into the childrenswear market is MSGM. For SS14 they’ve created their first ever line for little girls, or little tomboys rather thanks to slogan tees and practical, printed dresses. As part of the Board Games events calendar it will debut in Selfridges this March.
And if it’s skate ramps rather than skater skirts your little ones are in to, make sure you head to the Selfridges Skatepark over the Easter Weekend (17th-19th April).
Here, little ones will get the chance to perfect all their skills from their ollies to their ariels, in the Zukie skateboarding lessons.
Other activities such as a graffiti art installation and DJ sets will be taking place throughout the store during the six weeks of Board Games too, so make sure you check the online events calendar for more details.
