A host of celebrities have designed a collection of traditional rocking horses, which are to be auctioned off to raise money for AIDs charity, CHIVA.

Some of Britain’s most famous faces have put their design talents to good use, with a truly unique charity project. Stars from the worlds of acting, art and design have been enlisted by AIDs charity CHIVA, to customise a series of traditional, handmade Stevenson’s Brothers rocking horses, which will then be auctioned off at the iconic Sotheby’s to raise vital funds.

Included in the stellar line up are, British treasure, actress and campaigner Joanna Lumley, whose absolutely fabulous design comes in a rainbow pop of colour in honour of her much-loved character, Patsy. Whist Oscar-winning actress Dame Judi Dench OBE has taken a fairytale approach, transforming the humble rocker into a ethereal unicorn.

Fashion designer Amanda Wakeley meanwhile has taken a more exotic route, customising her horse up in zebra monochrome stripes – very on-trend for AW13.

Other celebs who have made their name due to their deign talent include renowned street and graffiti artist, Nick Haddow, who as you would expect has given his twee rocking horse a flare of urban cool. Whilst top interior designer, Kelly Hoppen MBE has gone for a more traditional aesthetic in her signature black and cream colour palette.

Each of the unique horses will be auctioned off at an exclusive event on November 14th, at London’s Sotheby’s. All proceeds will go directly towards CHIVA, efforts in South Africa in hope of combating the epidemic of HIV and AIDs specifically in babies, children and adolescents.
