Kettner’s

Kettner'sStyleNest stopped by at Kettner’s in London last weekend, sampling their signature cocktails and surveying the historic setting. Originally opened in 1867, Kettner’s holds it place as one of the oldest venues in Soho. A favourite of stars such as Oscar Wilde, Agatha Christie and Bing Crosby, Kettner’s today plays host to an all-day Brasserie, Cocktail and Champagne Bar. Seven Private Dining Rooms are also for hire, allowing for the social event of the season to be held here.

The exciting atmosphere and beautiful décor is as inviting as it is enticing. Whilst the Grade II listed building has kept most of its original architecture, a recent refurbishment brings the establishment up to date for modern visitors. Led through the bustling ambience to our private booth, the seats are one of two ‘bookable nooks’ on offer. Private enough to chat and people-watch simultaneously, our Skylight Nook offered us a view right up to the evening sky. Kicking back to relax on the plush velvet-style sofa, we plumped for a few drinks. Sloe Motion was the favourite of the night; a heady mix of Four Roses Bourbon Whiskey, Sloe Gin, Cherry Liquer and Cranberry Juice. A glistening red jewel on the table, the drink was completely delicious and our service impeccable.

Kettner’s Kabaret takes place on 21st November, the return of the venue’s legendary 1920s night of indulgence. Set in 1929, the evening is inspired by Weimar Germany. Delight in Champagne, cocktails and a specially designed three course gourmet menu before learning to dance the Charleston and checking out the jazz and cabaret. Spread over three floors, there will be the Pernod Absinthe Lounge and Kettner’s Bar on the Ground Floor, Kabaret Room and Laurent-Perrier Champagne Lounge on the First Floor and The Ballroom and Vintage Lounge on the Second Floor. Further treats include an absinthe fountain, complimentary swing dance lessons and a burlesque showcase. What better reason could there be to take a trip to Kettner’s?

Party Tickets to Kettner’s Kabaret cost £20 and include all the main entertainment. With a £75 Dining Ticket enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne, three-course gourmet meal and exclusive cabaret performances before dinner.
