With south of the restaurant overlooking the River Thames and north overlooking the famous Thames Foyer with beautiful atrium and flooding skylight, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill makes for the perfect setting for lunch and dinner. With two polar opposite spectrums for people watching, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill is beaming with a relaxed glamour, ideal for catchcing up with old friends, family or for getting to know a new date.

Oozing with 1920s glamour, you can dine Great Gatsby style without having to even step foot in a time machine. Paying tribute to The Savoy’s heritage, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill is overflowing with twenties elegance and the luxury but yet informal dining experience is reminiscent of a once before opulent time.

With a diverse menu to tease all taste buds, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill offers a selection of breakfast to dinner dishes with a seafood bar and grill at the heart of the menu.

Named after the three-foot high cat sculpture created to ward off bad luck, Kaspar was created to sit amongst guests after a dinner was held in 1898. Here, a party of fourteen guests were dining at the Savoy, including South African diamond magnate Woolf Joel, where one cancelled at the last minute. The dinner continued, but one superstitious guest declared that death would be upon the first diner to leave the table of unlucky 13. Gambling Joel left the table and a week later was shot and from hereon, the Savoy offered for a member of staff to sit with any tables of thirteen to out rule any superstition. Unpopular amongst guests, Kaspar was sculpted and has since accompanied parties of thirteen for almost 90 years.

Not only in its name does Kaspar’s keep alive the wonderful history that this four legged friend brought to the hotel almost 100 years ago, but as an informal, yet chic brasserie style restaurant it will also meet the demands of today’s regular diners.’ – Kiaran MacDonald, General Manager

With a simple and friendly menu, dishes include diver scallops and white asparagus to start as well as Oscietra Caviar, West Mersea rock oysters, classic burger, wiener schnitzel and lemon sole goujons as well as champagne strawberry sorbet for the ultimate in comfort luxe food.

Intertwining the contemporary with the classic, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill offers a traditional taste of the twenties blended with a refreshing modern dining experience.
