Fornata

FornataYou can rarely go wrong with Italian cuisine but new Italian restaurant Fornata have got it so right that they put a whole new meaning on the word Italian.

Not just another Italian, Fornata pleasantly welcomed StyleNest, boasting a rustic chic interiors and effortlessly cool atmosphere. The name Fornata derives from the Italian word ‘forno’, meaning oven and the restaurant’s exposed kitchens are a focal point for the restaurant.

The second project from owners of restaurant Babbo, Fornata offers affordable dishes without compromising taste.

Whether you’re having a light bite with friends, mid-week lunch snack or date night dinner, Fornata makes for the perfect venue of choice for all your culinary occasions.

Located on the bustling Kingly Street, the go-to foodie spot post shopping on Carnaby Street or London’s famous Regent’s Street, Fornata offers an informal and relaxed setting. With alfresco eating to bar dining and cosy banquette seating, Fornata offers a choice of dining options to suit your mood and occasion.

StyleNest picked a beautiful evening and were seated inside by the terrace, allowing us to experience both inside dining with a touch of alfresco people watching. After reviewing the menu, it was official, StyleNest wanted the entirety of it but instead we opted for the hearty Italian dish of Mozzarella in Carrozza and Arancine con Scamorza. Crispy, mouth-watering and the perfect quantity to fill that antipasti gap without making us overstuffed.

After eyeing the army of pizzas exiting the pizza stove, it was decided – pizza for main. We selected a Pizza Diavola with mozzarella, grilled peppers, olives and spicy salame as well as Calzone Con Polpettine E Mozarella with baked meatball and mozzarella calzone. With a thin crispy base and perfectly proportioned ingredients, StyleNest have found our new favourite pizza in London, so much so that we finished our plate.

For dessert, StyleNest indulged in the Tiramisu cheesecake and Chocolate Fudge Cake for the ultimate in pure sweet tooth heaven. Undoubtedly the best cheesecake and tiramisu StyleNest have ever had, offering layers upon layers of hidden goodness.

With a focus on oven-cooked dishes from Southern Italy as well as traditional sharing plates including mini pizzas and bite size burgers and a variety of roasted meat and fish dishes and traditional Italian cuisine, Fornata offer a range of culinary delights to suit all palettes.

For those on the go, Fornata’s new range of ice cream cocktails offers the ultimate temptation to help kick-start the summer solstice. From Campari sorbet to Vanilla White Russian with vodka, kalua and vanilla ice cream. With the introduction of the summer themed cocktails, a new Italian ice cream cart popping up in the terrace.
