Chocolate Tart Recipe

Serves 4

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 8 minutes

What You’ll Need:

For the Filling:

  • 200g Dark Chocolate
  • 150g Unsalted Butter
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 40g Sugar
  • 1 large or 2 small pastry cases

 To Serve:

 

  • Icing Sugar
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • A Small Jug of Pouring Cream
What To Do:
  1. Pre heat the oven at 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Prepare the pastry (if pre baked, leave aside). Roll and blind bake the pastry case until golden brown.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter on a low heat until melted
  4. In a blender, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy
  5. Carry on whisking and add the melted chocolate into the egg and sugar mix.
  6. Combine thoroughly and pour into the pastry case.
  7. Cook for 8 minutes for a large tart, any smaller ones monitor on a 3 – 4 minute cycle.
  8. Once cooked, the chocolate will look slightly paler and will be firm to touch.
  9. Try not to over cook. The secret is to slightly under cook and allow to set in the fridge.
  10. Only remove from the tin when cool.
  11. Lightly dust with icing sugar. Serve with strawberries and cream. Enjoy!
