The Emilia

The Emilia PostDesigner Emilia Wickstead, soon to grace matchesfashion.com for AW13, has paired up with The Dorchester’s Giuliano Morandin to create The Emilia cocktail. The designer’s two favourite cocktails, the passion fruit martini and the Moscow mule are combined to create a gin-based tipple mixed with Canton ginger liquor, passionfruit and lemon juice, with of course champagne to top. For the ultimate glamorous LFW experience serve in a coupe champagne glass and travel back in time to the  1930s, the well-known period for Dior couture. 

Serves 1

Preparation time: 5 – 10 mins

What You’ll Need: 

  • 50 ml gin
  • 20 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15 ml sugar syrup
  • 20 ml canton ginger liqueur
  • ½ lemon grass
  • Dash of egg white powder
  • Top with champagne (brut)

What To Do:

  • Cut top of the passion fruit and set aside
  • Pour rest of the fruit in the glass
  • Cut and muddle lemon grass
  • Add the rest of ingredients – shake
  • Double strain, pour in the glass
  • Top with champagne

Decoration:

  • Float passion fruit on top pus mini sprig of basil

 Glass:

  • champagne coupe
