The Winter Terrace at The Churchill Hotel London

Winston's NightcapCosy up this winter with a Christmas cocktail or a warm nightcap, at The Winter Terrace at Churchill Hotel London.

Nestled on the corner of London’s Portman Square, just a stone’s through from Selfridges and W1’s shopping district, you’ll find the Churchill Hotel.

This winter, the hotel will be transforming their private outdoor terrace into a chic Winter Hideout – the perfect spot to find respite from the nearby hustle and bustle.

At the Winter Hideout guests can sit amongst mountain tops and vintage sleighs, cosy up beneath soft fur rugs and overhead heaters, all whilst sipping on some delicious festive tipples to warm the cockles.

The limited edition menu of cocktails and winter warmers has been created using a host of seasonal British ingredients and premium spirits that are sure to get you in the festive spirits.

For the sweet toothed, indulge in the Cherry Flip, a heady mix of beer, rum and sugar, which is heated up with a red-hot iron. Keeping festive spirits warm since way back in 1695, the Churchill have put a Christmas twist on the old classic by adding Armagnac and Cherry Heering.

Or why not be inspired by the man himself and tuck into Winston’s Nightcap. Dating back to the 1700s, this hot buttered rum recipe combines rich flavours of Ron Zacapa 23 with house-made spiced syrup, boiling water with butter and topped off with vanilla foam.

There’ll also be a selection of snacks on offer to refuel after a round in nearby Selfridges, including scotch eggs and mini steak tartar. And of course, it wouldn’t be Churchill-worthy without a gentleman’s cigar to finish off.  Good news then that the Churchill have a handpicked selection of some of the world’s finest brands.

The Winter Terrace at The Churchill bar will be open until February 2014. Reservations – tel: + 44 (0) 20 7299 2035 or e-mail: [email protected]
