Pleased To Meet You Newcastle

Pleased to Meet You NewcastleCelebrate World Gin Day in style on Saturday with a trip to Newcastle’s newest hotspot, Pleased To Meet You.

There has been a trend for all things gin recently and gin palaces and bars have been popping up all over the Capital. The latest offering is tucked away in the North East.

Boasting a bar that stocks more than 50 types of gin, this lavish refurbishment of the historic Old Turks Hotel in High Bridge officially opened on May 31st.

Pleased To Meet You are gin specialists, listing one of their favourite combinations as Hoxton pink grapefruit and coconut gin with a Fentimen’s tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit.

Using expert skills to create exclusive cocktails, the bar’s signature drink ‘Pleased To Meet You No1’ consists of Saffron Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Licor 43 and DiSaronno Amaretto, served in a champagne saucer with a spray of orange blossom flower water.

For those less partial to a G & T, international craft beers, hand-pulled cask ales, barley wine and a selection of fine whiskies provide an equally appetising option.

An array of locally sourced food is also on the menu, with anything from mussels to risotto up for grabs. Or for something a little different, Pleased To Meet You suggest sampling The Martini Lunch and indulging in a grazing board with 2 cocktails for £20.

The theatrical presentation of this unique gin and draft house offers both the contemporary and the classic, conjuring up a northern twist on the latest spate of gin bars to hit London.
