Here at Stylenest we are partial to both fruity cocktails and a well-structured hat. So when we heard that top London milliner Noel Stewart had collaborated with One Aldwych floral designer Mark Siredzuk, we had to see it for ourselves. The collaboration has seen the partnership create a stunning installation in One Aldwych’s Lobby Bar in London.
During London Fashion Week Stewart’s stunning new Spring/Summer 13 collection of hats will be suspended on two towering transparent plinths above the Lobby Bar. Enjoying cocktails and high fashion together, it sounds like our perfect place.
Noel Stewart first made his foray into millinery working as Stephen Jones’ assistant whilst he was at Christian Dior Couture. This inspired him to study at The Royal College of Art before moving on to create his eponymous millinery label.
News quickly spread of his innovative use of contemporary art and architecturally historical references, and collaborations with Erdem, Viktor & Rolf and Marc by Marc Jacobs followed suit. This season, he has designed pieces for Hussein Chalayan, Gareth Pugh, Holly Fulton and Roksanda Illincic.
Stewart and Siredzuk have also created a special one-off hat, which will adorn André Wallace’s sculpture The Boatman in the Lobby Bar throughout London Fashion Week. Fittingly, it’s a boater hat made from luxuriant green moss, purple violets, a rose-coloured hydrangea and a vibrant holographic band. True to Stewart’s stylistic aesthetic.
The Lobby Bar itself is the perfect place for an after work, or pre-party drink. Contemporary, yet timeless, the bar acts as the perfect background to showcase Pedro Paulo’s new LFW inspired cocktail, Fashion 75. Combining every fashion luvvie’s favoutire, Champagne, with Noel Stewart’s favourite flavor, lime, along with hibiscus syrup and gin, this cocktail will ensure you kick London Fashion Week off to a great start.
The Lobby Bar at One Aldwych is open 7 days a week. See www.onealdwych.com for further details.
