Bel Air Brings a Slice of Sunshine to Shoreditch

Bel AirFrom pop up restaurants to coffee shops in vintage vans- as London continues its love affair with nutritious and wholesome food for a healthy lifestyle, entrepreneur Andrew Barton is bringing a taste of California cool to the East End with the opening of Bel Air in Shoreditch.

Inspired by Andrew’s recent residency in LA, where health and wellbeing are paramount, the idea for Bel Air was born. The restaurant will serve easy breezy fast food that’s good for the body and soul – low in carbs, salt and refined sugar but full of flavours and packed with fresh, nutritious ingredients.

Open for breakfast and lunch with a menu inspired by the LA weather and developed by chef Damian Currie, from the early morning customers can start their day right with energy boosting smoothie shots, open sandwiches on San Francisco style sourdough, and the superfood-rich ‘build your own breakfast’ – your choice of oat based cereals and delicious toppings combined to your own personal taste. Breakfast eggs will also provide a morning protein boost on the go, ensuring mind, body and soul are prepped for the day ahead. Signature house salads and hot plates will be a staple at lunchtime with a focus of super greens, fresh dressings and lean proteins. Hearty soups will serve up a good dose of health as the hours of sunshine get shorter throughout the winter months. Thirst can be quenched with fresh pressed juices, infusions, herbal teas or boosted by a caffeine fix with barista coffees provided by local roasters, Ozone.

Speaking of his inspiration for London’s new foodie hotspot, founder Andrew Barton commented:

“California has got it so right – well-sourced beautiful ingredients, bold flavours, all fused with that ever present sunshine”

In terms of the restaurant interior, the space is very much inspired by iconic Beverly Hills hotels. Think marble topped counters flooded with natural light, a yellow and white striped awning covering the front façade, whitewashed and repurposed wooden walls and an awe inspiring art mural to top it off.

Bringing a slice of sunshine to your breakfast and lunch, Bel Air is certain to keep you on track maintaining a healthy eating plan whilst enduring a hectic lifestyle. The iBeacon app allows you to place your order through your smart phone and pick it up with the Bel Air concierge service. Brunch has never looked so bright.

Open from March 16th; grab a bite to eat from Bel Air at 54 Paul Street, EC2A 4LN.
