Super Lyan opens Friday April 14th in the basement of game-changing London bar White Lyan, a mere week after it closed its doors for the last time. Clearly absurd expectation and workload won’t stand in the way of the juggernaut of goodness which is the Mr Lyan team.
While the White Lyan basement saw Bjork dj, Jay Z and Beyonce party and more fun than is likely legal elsewhere in much of the world, Super Lyan sees another example of the innovation and restless creativity embodied by Ryan Chetiyawardana and the crack team of visionaries who lovingly embody the Mr Lyan ethos.
The team have lovingly curated a collection of “Bitchin’ Classics”, showcasing their love of classic cocktails alongside a desire to innovate and engage, from the geekiest bartender to utter novices; in addition to brand new cocktails like Dog’s Nose Clover Club and Man on Fire expect draught beers, delicious wines and banging bar snacks with the emphasis on creating a memorable experience whatever your tastes.
In keeping with its previous incarnation, and the frankly exceptional Dandelyan at Mondrian the heart of Super Lyan will be offering an incredible experience to guests, and offering accessible, innovative ways to try exceptional drinks in incredible surroundings. The fact that Super Lyan’s surroundings will include neon, brickwork and the basement’s legendary stripper pole seems entirely in keeping with the ‘heaps mad shit’ the team thrive on, and excel at.
I have to confess that I have long been a fan, and friend to most of those involved in Super Lyan and their other activities, and both for good reason; to see passionate, principled, funny people excel while keeping their integrity and empathy intact is a joy to behold.
Truthfully though, I’ll primarily go for the incredible drinks and guaranteed good times a trip to Super Lyan will entail, and I strongly advocate that you do too.
