COVETABLE – SANDOWS COLD BREW COFFEE

SandowsI find something all the more endearing in the fact that Sandows named their company after the pseudonym of a famed Victorian Strongman, and that the lovely aesthetic of their label is a tribute to his barbells.

This is apropos to nothing in particular as to why I am such a fan of Sandows, but as any regular Covetable readers will be aware the quest for a singular vision is an effective, if far from easy way to win me over.

So it is for Luke and Hugh at Sandows; putting together their passion for coffee with a vision for the brand, they struck upon one of the most labour intensive and infuriating ways to achieve their goals, and that for me makes the whole thing all the more endearing.

Sandows Cold Brew Coffee is triple filtered for hours to the same exacting standards each and every time to create a refreshing, invigorating experience. As they say themselves ‘Our cold brew won’t make you smarter, stronger or more beautiful- it’s simply delicious.’ I’d be inclined to add it will make you a little happier, as all great products should.

As well as being found in the likes of Whole Foods, Selfridges and Fortnum & Masons, the champs are at Imbibe next week, serving their draught and bottled versions as well as an amazing Cold Brew G and T with Caorunn Gin and Fever Tree.

From there you can find them at ever more stores, pop-ups and cafes in London and beyond; check their website for your nearest stockist and if that’s no use Hugh and Luke are so kind they’ll even send it to you direct.

As ever all is subjective, but whether or not you’re still rocking the overly frothed and sweetened multinational wrongness I would strongly suggest finding a place in your fridge, and your heart for the mighty Sandows.
