Stella McCartney Launches AW13 Campaign

Luxury, British label Stella McCartney has launched the brand’s ad campaign for Autumn Winter 13, and as always it’s full of typical Stella charm.

Starring two of the favourites from Stella McCartney’s Paris Fashion Week show, Suvi Koponen and Chiharu Okunugi, the quirky campaign was shot in Stella’s hometown, London by celebrated photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

One shot shows Japanese model, Chiharu Okunugi static on a street corner in one of Stella’s statement head-to-toe white-layered looks. The fine knits and luxe, ladylike silk are given a modern update with clunky, deep-tread ankle shoes.

The other images depict Koponen and Okunugi in a clear blue swimming pool, despite being styled by Stella herself in oversized masculine wool coats and winter’s must-have print, tartan. The shots merge the gap between Spring Summer and Autumn Winter – full of summer sunshine, yet showcasing what we’ll be wearing once the cold sets in.

The campaign also introduces a new member to the Stella family – the Beckett bag. Using faux leather and sustainable, natural dyes, as Stella always does, the Beckett is sure to be the most eco It-bag of next season. The shoulder bag can be worn traditionally or flat packed and folded for a chicer, more streamlined look.

The Stella McCartney Autumn Winter 13 collection is already dropping at the online store and explores some of next season’s biggest trends. Boy-meets-girl dressing is soften in vibrant berry shades, whilst the return of the Tartan Army in oversized coats and woollen pleated skirts is sure to be on everyone’s most-wanted list.

And for those after a more streamlined look, Stella’s signature sharp tailored blazers and sleek maxi dresses return with an AW13 revamp.
