models on the catwalk at Sophie Anderson SS14Born in Kuwait, raised in Oman and living in South America, it’s no wonder the creations of fashion designer Sophie Anderson are so jam packed with colour, print and vibrancy.

Add womenswear designer Sophie Anderson to your ones to watch list. The Kuwait born designer has just been snapped up by luxury e-commerce store Net-A-Porter, along with London’s Fenwick and the iconic store, Browns Fashion.

Print and colour and intrinsic to the brand, taking reference literally from around the globe, be it Anderson’s childhood growing up in Oman or her current residency in South America.

Tribal prints are worked into demure, ladylike shapes and styled with hand-woven, pompom covered accessories. It’s a bold, eclectic look yet ladylike and elegant all at the same time.

For Spring/Summer ’13, Sophie Anderson has teamed up with New York based designer Tia Cibani to create a selection of beautifully embellished statement bags.

Nodding to Anderson’s signature bohemian style, the Veto Tote comes in vibrant hues of yellow, orange, pink, blue and black, worked into oversized stripes. It’s the perfect everyday bag should the everyday need a little bit of a colour injection.

Next up is the Lea Bag, an intricately embroidered floral bag that’ll brighten up a trusty LBD.

But it is the Aldo Clutch bags that are the true heroes of the collaboration. Available in two styles, orange and cream and black and geometric print, these oversized clutches offer day to night practicality whilst packing a serious style punch. In true Sophie style they each come with an oversized pompom for a fun and playful edge. Added to a simple look of skinny denim and a white shirt, they’ll take everyday looks into the eclectic.

A-listers Uma Thurman and Naomi Watts are already fans. Sophie, you can add us to that list too.
