Selfridges’ Bright Young Things

Hawaiian print jacket Selfridges re-launch their Bright Young Things campaign to champion young British based designers.

In 2011 Selfridges launched their Bright Young Things campaign – a project that sees the iconic department store discover and showcase some of the UK’s most exciting young creators from the worlds of fashion, art, design and food. Following on from last year’s success, Selfridges have decided to re-launch the project for 2012 and this year it is set to be bigger and brighter than before.

From 6 January 2012 until the end of February, Selfridges will be showcasing each of the fifteen designers in either their Oxford Street or Duke Street window displays. With over one million people visiting Selfridges each week and its recent accolade as the ‘World’s Best Department Store’, the Bright Young Things initiative is the perfect stepping stone to propel the contenders into the world of design.

Five of the chosen fifteen designers specialise in womenswear and will be exclusively selling pieces at three pop-up shops in store and online. First up is Maarten Van Der Horst whose Hawaiian-print shirt dresses will offer a splash of colour and retro print to your wardrobe, whilst the clean, sharp cuts of MASC give the classic LBD a contemporary update.

Be sure to get yourself down to Selfridges London this January and February to catch a glimpse of what are sure to be Britain’s future stars of design.
