Final Richard Nicoll for Fred Perry AW12 Collection

Fred Perry Richard Nicoll AW12 collectionThe fourth and sadly final Richard Nicoll for Fred Perry collection launches in store and online this week.

After four stunning collections, iconic Brit label Fred Perry and LFW womenswear designer Richard Nicoll have brought their partnership to an end. As disappointed as we are, the Fred Perry Laurel Wreath by Richard Nicoll AW12 collection is far from a fashion disappointment, in fact we think it’s the duos best yet.

Inspired by equestrianism and Great British eccentricity, the AW12 collection subscribes to the usual Fred Perry aesthetic – buttoned up shirts, Mod attitude and masculine tailoring – but with a modern colour palette and whimsical horse print, giving it an instant update.

With a rich colour palette of raspberry, opal and blue; this latest collection is certainly the most vibrant of the bunch. The horses, horseshoe and laurel print adorn everything from polo shirts to silk scarves, giving the collection a girlish charm.

However, the usual suspects you’d expect to see rooted in Fred Perry’s rich heritage are still there, from sporty polo shirts to harlequin patterns. Whilst silks, fine knits, cashmere and sequins give the collaboration a luxe edge.

Key pieces from the Richard Nicoll collection include puff sleeve blouses, soft wool dresses, tailored shorts and boyish Harrington jackets. The standout star of the collection has to be a duffle coat complete with laurel detailed toggles – the perfect finish to an iconic look.

The collection also includes a range of accessories from equestrian inspired leather saddle bags to suede wedged moccasins.

The Richard Nicoll and Fred Perry partnership is certainly ending on a high, and what better year to exit than 2012 – a year jam-packed celebrating British heritage.
