Oscar De La Renta UK Store Opening

Oscar de la Renta UK StoreWorld-renowned fashion designer Oscar de la Renta has opened his first UK based boutique in London this January.

He’s one of the world’s most revered fashion designers, dressing some of the worlds most stylish women since the 1960s – Jackie Kennedy being just one.

And at long last Oscar de la Renta has this week opened the doors to his first London boutique, located in Mayfair’s premium shopping district at 130 Mount Street, perched on the corner of iconic Berkeley Square.

The 3,000 square store that was previously occupied by British celebrity hairdresser, Nicky Clarke spans an impressive three floors. Not only will the stunning store stock Oscar de la Renta’s popular ready-to-wear and bridal collection, but accessories, beauty, home décor and childrenswear too. It’s the ultimate de la Renta emporium for the brand’s biggest fans.

The flagship store sits in good company as neighbouring high-end shops from Marc Jacobs to Balenciaga sit close by. The interior has been specially designed by New York design brand, Meyer Davis Studio and boasts Dominican coral stone (a nod to the Dominican Republic born designer’s heritage) as well as exquisite high-gloss white anigré wood.

Since starting his brand way back in 1965, Oscar de la Renta is always a hot ticket at Paris Fashion Week and is a strong contender for elegant red carpet looks for some of the world’s leading ladies. His Spring Summer ’13 collection, as always, showcased the designer’s ladylike aesthetic and exquisite attention to detail. Tough leather macramé trimmed soft white sundresses, whilst sharp tailored trousers suits were paired against delicate lace. It was high-octane elegance we’ve come to expect from the iconic fashion designer.

Oscar may be 80 years of age, but his brand is fresher than ever.
