New York luxury brand, Marc By Marc Jacobs launch Autumn Winter 13 campaign, shot by legendary photographer Juergen Teller.
Marc By Marc Jacobs; the little sis’ label to the iconic Marc Jacobs brand, have recently launched their Autumn Winter 2013 campaign. Brimming with retro 70s flare, the campaign features models, Giedre Kiaulenaite and Juliana Schurig in bold, vibrant prints in shades of berry, plum and burnt orange. The hair is big (think disco curls brushed out a little), whilst the makeup screams pucker up. Think Studio 54 by way of Anita Pallenberg’s wardrobe.
As always Marc By Marc’s penchant for vivid colour shines through – especially in the geometric and tropical print dresses that’ll add a brightness to even the dullest winter wardrobe, without looking inappropriate on a wet and windy day.
For self-confessed tomboys, matchy-matchy masculine trousers and tees paired with mannish overcoats and boyish brogues were also spotted in the New York Fashion Week collection.
The diffusion label is seen as Marc Jacob’s more commercially viable line – one that our wardrobes are ready for and our purses a little more understanding about. This season is no exception. In fact the overall vibe has perhaps grown up a little, making shapes a more sophisticated and elegant. The fun colour palettes and bold prints still are there, but they’re topped off with some seriously wish list worthy, luxe accessories.
The campaign itself has quite obviously been shot by Juergen Teller, staying true to the German photographer’s signature, bleached-out and mannequin-esque style.
Teller and Marc Jacobs have long held a working relationship, as the photographer has shot many a campaign for the Jacobs brand, including those starring the likes of Victoria Beckham, Sophie Coppola and Helena Bonham- Carter, as well as a wealth of top models.
The latest campaign shows the models waiting, statuesque, in what appears to be a rather chic waiting room. Thankfully for us, the waiting is over as the AW13 Marc By Marc Jacobs collection is already in store.
