LFW designer Louise Gray has collaborated with the Scottish cashmere label on a stunning 10-piece capsule collection for AW2011. On paper the pairing might not seem to fit- Louise famed for her avant-garde creations and Brora most notably known for the finest cashmere, however, it is a pairing we are very happy to see.

The dynamic collection remains true to Gray’s signature style and includes an oversized sloppy jumper, wrist-warmers, a snood, a patchwork jumper dress stole and a cropped-cardigan. Each piece is bursting with colour and texture.

The collaboration marks a contemporary approach to knitwear and is a great direction for the relatively classical cashmere brand.

Commenting on the collection, Victoria Stapleton, Head of BRORA commented, “Louise presented an ideal synergy for Brora. Her love of and attention to detail and innate understanding of how to inject a modern vitality into traditional materials made her an incredibly exciting person for us to work with”

Gray describes her inspiration for the collection: “I love playing with colour and texture to create really fun pieces and this is what I am bringing to the classic Brora shapes and silhouettes. I worked with traditional Scottish patterns and knits such as cable knits and fisherman jumpers, but then gave them my signature style creating rich blends of colourful cashmere that are very much Brora, but with a Louise Gray twist!”

The collection launched today and is available  exclusively online at Brora.co.uk and at BRORA’s flagship store on Symons Street from. Prices start from £80 – £750
