Danish born designer, Louise Amstrup’s Spring Summer 12 Collection goes into print overdrive.

She’s worked for the likes of fashion royalty Alexander McQueenand fashion British frontrunner Jonathan Saunders, but after huge appreciation in her own right Louise Amstrup launched her eponymous label back in 2006 to great acclaim. This season, her collection is stronger than ever and even better for us ladies, it’s very wearable.

The collection comprises soft jersey dresses, cute summer shorts and oversized masculine shirts. Fluid soft tailoring is toughened up with masculine collars and softened with intricate pleating, whilst the bold prints bring each piece their own little bit of Amstrup’s signature style. The muted colour palette mixes block black with pretty lilacs, vibrant reds and zingy tangerines – it’s a collection packed with print, perfect for this season’s print on print trend.

One of the standout pieces of the Spring Summer collection has to be the Fit And Flare Dress With Pleat Detail (£510). With it’s paired down, boyish t-shirt-style top and girlish, full pleated skirt, it’s a real mix and match piece that the Danish designer does so well. There are many more items that will fit into your everyday wardrobe too like the stunning oversized Silk Shirt in Roxy Print (£260). With contrasting blue collar and cuffs it’ll add a masculine edge to your look. . And the piece that has us dreaming of summer already has to be the gorgeous Sleeveless Top In Liberty Print (£190) – the abstract New York print design nails several of this season’s trends in one, Print, Sports Luxe and Pastels.
