London Fashion Week designer, Gerogia Hardinge has teamed up with high street store, River Island this season for an exclusive capsule collection.

River Island has upped its fashion ante this season as the high street favourite has partnered LFW designer, Georgia Hardinge.

The Spring Summer 13 collection is part of River Island’s Design Forum, which sees up coming designers team up with the high street store in hope of propelling them into a wider, more commercial audience.

This is the first time Georgia Hardinge has teamed up with a high street store, and the collection will include clothing and accessories. Hardinge’s mainline collection, which shows at London Fashion Week plays on a soft, feminine aesthetic with plenty of sculpted shapes and bold prints. We’re predicting the River Island capsule collection to follow suit.

Although this is a debut high street collection for Hardinge, River Island are no stranger to a capsule collection themselves, recently teaming up with Rhianna for a sell-out collection for pop fans. The Georgia Hardinge collection however, will open the store up to a slightly more mature, fashion-savvy shopper.

Hardinge has already won a host of high profile celebrity fans in the likes of Beyoncé and Lady GaGa, who have both favoured structured, statement pieces. The River Island collection will be priced very reasonably however, with no products priced above £100.

The London based designer is very excited about the collaboration, explaining, “When I started my business I made a plan to one day collaborate with a high street retailer and I am so happy to see that happen.”

“There is a definite buzz around the River Island brand and they are really bringing something fresh and new to the high street,” adds Georgia.

The Georgia Hardinge for River Island 14 pieces collection will launch at River Island stores nationwide and online from April 2013.
