A flagship Christopher Kane store is to open on London’s luxury Mount Street, before the end of 2014.

Since Christopher Kane sold a stake in his eponymous label to luxury fashion conglomerate Kering, rumours of a flagship store opening have been rife. Well, the designer has confirmed the hearsay, announcing that a Christopher Kane store will open on London’s Mount Street by the end of next year.

The store will sit in prime, luxury retail spot amongst the likes of Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga and Christian Louboutin.

Until now, the British label has been headed up by Kane and his sister and business partner Tammy. Joining Kering, which also holds stakes in fellow Brit labels Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, will propel the brand into global success.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for us” the Kane siblings announced, “To have our own retail space gives us the chance to showcase our collections and to really express our vision. To open in London first was really important to us as this is where our label was born.”

Alexandre de Brettes was announced as CEO of the Christopher Kane brand back in July when the Kering deal took place. He has said of the flagship opening, “This is the first step in a new chapter for the Christopher Kane brand. London is a powerful retail centre, so our store will become not only a destination for a global consumer but an incredible marketing platform for the brand around the world. Christopher and Tammy absolutely fell in love with the space on Mount Street and I cannot wait to see their creative vision for what I am sure will be an extraordinary retail experience.”

Already the toast of London Fashion Week and top of the hit list of every fashion editor around the globe, this store opening looks set to be just another Christopher Kane achievement on the road to superbrand success.
