Christmas Jumper Day Designer Auction

Mary Katrantzou Christmas Jumper

Mary Katrantzou Christmas Jumper

Christmas Jumper Day takes place on Friday 13 December 2013, and 14 of London’s top designers have created an exclusive festive knit for the occasion. Run in conjunction with the British Fashion Council and Westfield, the novelty knits will be auctioned off to raise funds and awareness for Save The Children.

You could be the proud owner of possibly one of the best Christmas jumpers ever, with Save The Children’s ‘Woolly Big Text Auction’. 14 London Fashion Week designers have put their own signature stamp on 14 hand knitted ‘Wool and the Gang’ jumpers, which will be up for auction from 20 November to 30 December.

But this auction comes with a twist. It won’t be the highest bidder who gets to don one of the novelty knits from the likes of Burberry, Mary Katrantzou and Jonathan Saunders. No, the person who makes the lowest, unique bid will win the one-of-a-kind design.

Entrants can make their bid via mobile phone by texting the name of the designer jumper they want, followed by the amount they want to bid in pence to 78484.

Our favourite has to be Mary Katrantzou’s design – a gloriously festive holly berry and ribbon affair that’ll have you wrapped up like a little Christmas tree this year.

Burberry meanwhile have kept it traditional, depicting a woollen winter London scene complete with red bus, telephone box and Big Ben.

Whilst LFW designer Jonathan Saunders has referenced his SS14 collection, with embroidered pretty pastel blooms.

Each of the 14 jumpers will be on show at the Village, Westfield London as part of an installation designed by artist Stuart Semple until 30 December.

Pick your favourite, get texting and you could be the proud owner of one of the most exclusive Christmas jumpers ever made, whilst donating to charity too.

To see the full collection visit the Save The Children Website, where you will also find more info on how to bid. www.savethechildren.org.uk
