Belstaff Womenswear SS14

Post-BelstaffIf you thought womenswear at Belstaff consisted only of biker boots and waxed jackets then think again. With a collection that includes elegant silk tops, oversized suede tote bags and statement heeled boots, Belstaff womenswear seriously deserves a second look.

Founded in 1924 in Stoke-on-Trent, Belstaff was an innovative, technical brand which developed the very first water resistant wax cotton. Fast forward 90 years and the brand is still leading the way with its innovative technology and design led pieces. Delivering style with high performing technology is no mean feat, but it’s one that Belstaff have successfully conquered.

Whilst the brand was created for and worn by mainly motorcyclists and pilots, over the years it has become a go-to fashion brand and has been worn by a variety of iconic and celebrated figures, including historical titans T.E. Lawrence, Amelia Earhart and Che Guevara, and the more modern names like David Beckham, Jemma Kidd and Sarah Jessica Parker.

But Belstaff isn’t all biker boots and jackets. This season, Creative Director, Martin Cooper has delivered a RTW collection that appeals to the modern woman – a woman who needs practicality yet seeks sophistication and style. In his role, Cooper faces the hard challenge of representing the brands roots and heritage whilst also creating a fashion forward and feminine collection.

Stand out pieces from the SS14 collection include the Read Silk Polka Dot Blouse, complete with detachable leather collar, the red pleated Salter Dress and the mustard suede Hampton Tote.  Each piece can be kept elegant and dressed up with classic heels and a structured blazer, but equally looks great when paired down with a biker boot and tough outerwear. The SS14 collection allows the Belstaff woman to mix and match the pieces and play around with her look.

Belstaff offers investment pieces that can be worn season after season, and clothing and accessories that fit in with your lifestyle.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for AW14.
