Atea Womenswear

Model wears Atea SS14 Slip and jacketCovet uncomplicated cool this spring with out new wardrobe crush, Atea womenswear.

“A considered collection of separates,” is how womenswear label Atea coins itself. We couldn’t agree more. Embracing the power of simplicity, the label oozes confident-cool with its paired back, uncomplicated separates. If there was ever a time to throw around the terms “everyday essentials” or “capsule wardrobe,” this is it.

For Spring/Summer ‘14, Atea have launched a series of simple looks your wardrobe is crying out for. From the nonchalant 90s Slip Dress to Alexander Wang style sportswear, and go-with-everything denim; Atea’s current collection is both simple and clever.

Their ethos is “everything with everything,” and in theory you could invest in the entire collection and be very happy for season’s to come – if only.

Their online store is just a simple and pleasing to use too – carefully editing pieces into subcategories should you be after the essential pants, must-have knitwear or go-to tailoring.

You can also browse by look, through beautifully styled and shot model imagery. This provides shoppers with inspirational looks on how to style their Atea pieces up – from nautical stripes to understated sportswear.

So which Atea pieces will we be investing in this season?

The ivory Hutton Blazer, £480 slung over the dove grey slip Cupro Dress, £345 is top of our SS14 wish list. Pair with 2-strap heels for evening, or with trainers for a street style influence, as seen on the recent Chanel Couture catwalk.

We’re also loving the tomboy-inspired Breton Sweater, £125 paired with Navy Tailored Shorts, £165. We’ll be packing them in our holiday suitcase for a real life Madame Chanel moment this summer.

And finally, we’d quite happily buy the entire collection from Atea’s ‘From The Blue’ line, which showcases a new, modern approach to everyday dressing. Inky indigo block-colour is seen on everything from cupro blouses to mannish slacks, simple camisoles to the perfect sweatshirt.

Time to de-clutter, simplify and clean up your wardrobe. Sometimes the simplest of ideas are the best.
