The austerity of recent years hasn’t affected the luxury shopping market just yet, as three of Britain’s biggest fashion brands open debut stores in the Capital this year.

First up is celebrated Scottish designer and toast of London Fashion Week, Christopher Kane, who is set to open a retail space on Mayfair’s Mount Street. After receiving investment from luxury fashion conglomerate, Kering in early 2013, the Kane brand is set to expand throughout 2014, with an extended accessories range and the flagship opening. With Christian Louboutin, Balenciaga and Marc Jacobs already residence of Mount Street, Kane is set to be in good company.

Minutes away on London’s Dover Street, British fashion brand Victoria Beckham is set to open her first London store. Beckham has previous stated that she was keen to open her first store in London and promised the affair would be “something a little conceptual, but not too much.” The store will sit alongside a wealth of fresh, contemporary brands such as Acne and of course, Dover Street Market, which houses the likes of Comme des Garçons.

Also joining the Mayfair Massive with her first London opening is LFW designer Roksanda Illincic. The Serbian-born designer known for her use of bold, block colour and feminine sensibility will join Christopher Kane with a flagship opening on Mount Street. The store will incorporate another of Illincic’s talents, architecture, which she studied before turning her hand to fashion. Architect David Adjaye and set designer Gary Card have already been enlisted for the store design, so expect the shop to be a feast for the eyes much like Illincic’s collections.

Credit cards at the ready, 2014 is set to be a big year for London’s shopping scene.
