One of the standout shows of SS14 was without a doubt Prada. The Italian fashion house, headed up by Miuccia Prada has a knack of taking something deemed completely unworthy of sartorial translation, and creating it into something chic, trend setting and ready to be imitated by all.
This season, Miuccia chose art. As the show venue was transformed into an art gallery, murals lining the walls by artists, El Mac, Mesa, Gabriel Specter, Stinkfish, Jeanne Detallante and Pierre Mornet; models took to the catwalk in Peter Blake-esque Pop Art prints and hues.
Prada SS14
Fur sat at the center of the collection, despite it being spring/summer. But forget classic browns and blacks and even real fur, at Prada the more vivid the colour the better. Look to poster paint hues for your palette, and add a sports luxe edge with boyish t-shirts and sports line detailing. The same goes for prints, the more likely they are to be hanging in the Tate, the better they’ll translate Prada’s SS14 aesthetic.

Each season womenswear brand, Mother of Pearl team up with an artist to produce a print-filled collection. For SS14 they chose London-based artist Mat Collishaw. The outcome – beautiful prints inspired by bold botanics.

The buckle fastening of these two-strap sandals give them a sports luxe edge. Pair with tailored trousers or printed floral dresses.
