Rose Hydrating Cocoon

The Montpellier Chapter Hotel only opened its doors a year ago, but we feel that its luxurious spa is fast becoming one of Cheltenham’s hidden gems.

For mums-to-be this treatment from Aromatherapy Associates will leave you feeling pampered and refreshed. Whilst the extensive treatments list may not boast a specific pregnancy massage this is a more than worthy alternative especially as you can lie on your back for the entire treatment – good news for bumps.

The therapist begins with an exfoliating massage using Natural Exfoliating Grains made from ground down olives. Starting with the arms and legs, followed by the chest and neck and finishing with your back in a sitting position. After working away the dead skin you will take a quick shower before lying back down on the bed for another massage.

This time with rose massage oil; the plant extract is one of the few that are recommended for expectant mothers. Before your therapist begins you will be asked to take three deep inhales of frankincense and pure essential oils to help de-stress and clear the mind.

After your body massage, the therapist methodically cocoons you with towels into a tight swaddle and begins an Indian Head massage. If you’re not on the verge of sleep already, this will definitely help to relieve any left over tension. The enriching oils leaves hair feeling smooth and smelling delicious, but if your pampering session is before a night out then your therapist will happily suggest a less oily option.

Finally, the treatment concludes with some gentle arm and leg stretches to bring you back to life. If you’re not ready to face the outside world just yet, then we suggest retiring to the relaxation room.

It is recommended not to shower at least 2-3 hours post-treatment, but with such supple and smooth skin, and smelling like roses, we’re sure you’ll want to wait much longer.

The Rose Hydrating Cocoon costs £60 and lasts for approx 50mins. For more information please visit Montpellier Chapter Spa, or Aromatherapy Associates
