Maradiva Villas, Resort and Spa will be hosting The Mauritian Retreat at Urban Retreat, Harrods until 5th November.
This is a unique chance to experience treatments from the best worldwide spa, as voted by The Sunday Times Travel magazine. This month-long festival at Urban Retreat promises to transport you to the Mauritian coast, with an extensive range of treatments incorporating the therapeutic benefits of Indian herbs, hand-blessed essential oils and Ayurvedic healing therapies.
StyleNest had the chance to try out the signature Ananda deep-tissue oil massage, which was beyond heavenly. Once welcomed by the lovely therapist from the Maradiva Resort itself, she talked us through the treatment we were about to receive. It began with a traditional Indian foot-cleansing ritual and then we were led over to the bed and wrapped up cocoon-like in towels and blankets.
The therapist explained that she would be using a hand-blessed concoction of simple lime and ginger oils, to detoxify the body and reduce inflammation. What followed was perhaps the best 60 minutes of our life. We received a full-body, deep tissue massage, with literally no part of our body left untouched and many aches and pains instantly eased. Next, the therapist moved onto our face, massaging a fragrant blend of jasmine oil onto our face and head, leaving us positively glowing.
The treatment was finished off with another beautiful Indian ritual, with a grain of rice pressed into the head in order to bring us calm and good fortune. Needless to say, we left the spa feeling extremely light on our feet and felt rested and calm for days after.
This treatment is just one of a fantastic selection on offer at The Mauritian Retreat. From head massages, body wraps and herbal facials and detox treatments, there is something for everyone. Moreover, Urban Retreat is the ultimate beauty destination, where you will receive luxury treatments, expert advice and a welcoming service.
