A super stylish blowdry and updo bar, StyleNest recently visited London’s latest hair salon, Duck & Dry. Perfectly placed on the King’s Road, Duck & Dry is a fresh and innovative take on hair styling solutions.
Offering a comprehensive and affordable menu of 8 signature updos and 8 statement blowdrys, their insightful tagline is “Fine Feathers Make Fine Birds”. Open daily and on weekdays from 7:30am-7:30pm, Duck & Dry aims to beautify and empower London women looking for an express look or easily access a little extra me time. Established by Founder and CEO Yulia Rorstrum, Yulia wanted a salon which believed in the power of everyday hair styling options. Joined by Creative Director Snowden Hill, an A list hairstyling guru often found at international fashion shows, Duck & Dry was born.
Stepping into the salon, the chic mint and pink interior instantly attracts, beginning the refreshing experience. Met with a warm welcome at reception, there is a bar area to the left where I was offered a drink from their Drinks & Nibbles menu. Settling down on the couch with delicious homemade lemonade and a copy of Tatler, I started to survey the styling menu. In addition to the 8 signature updos and 8 signature blowdrys, a selection of other extras are also available including treatments, trims and express options.
Choosing Updo No.4, the Grecian Chic, I was guided to my seat for the styling to begin. My selected updo comprises two side braids delicately pinned up and a messy bun, a laidback yet luxe look. Explaining I’m in a little bit of a hurry, the express updo was expertly created in a flash, as my stylist happily talked me through the style.
Leaving Duck & Dry I felt revitalised and refreshed, ready for a busy afternoon before hitting the town later with my new ‘do.
Duck & Dry signature blow dry styles are priced at £25, with Duck, Dry & Do signature updo looks costing £35. Express blow dries, treatments, trims, gift vouchers and children’s styles are also on the menu.
